Echo Yuan is a product and industrial designer based in Brooklyn, New York. She is interested in taking something we already know and challenging our preconceived notions of the subject. Through observing, learning, and thinking, this process refreshes our  ways of perceiving the surroundings. While her work focuses heavily on tangible products, she also enjoys exploring and working with different mediums, and she is always excited to play with new tools.

Lighting
Brass, vellum










C·age is an ambient floor lamp for indoor use, the lighting texture transmits through the vellum paper and the frame made in brass. It serves the purpose in both aesthetics and functionality. It could also be interpreted as a fine art piece, expressing elders’ will to break free from the cage as they age.
