Echo Yuan is a product and industrial designer based in Brooklyn, New York. She is interested in taking something we already know and challenging our preconceived notions of the subject. Through observing, learning, and thinking, this process refreshes our  ways of perceiving the surroundings. While her work focuses heavily on tangible products, she also enjoys exploring and working with different mediums, and she is always excited to play with new tools.

Bottle cap opener
Ash, steel











Fin is a bottle cap opener designed after closely studying the ergonomics and in the effort of improving people’s experiences with existing bottle cap openers. The piece is made with ash and steel, showing aesthetics through the choice of materials.
From kitchen to bar, Fin can be used in different places with minimized effort applied to the wrist to open a bottle.
