Echo Yuan is a product and industrial designer based in Brooklyn, New York. She is interested in taking something we already know and challenging our preconceived notions of the subject. Through observing, learning, and thinking, this process refreshes our  ways of perceiving the surroundings. While her work focuses heavily on tangible products, she also enjoys exploring and working with different mediums, and she is always excited to play with new tools.

Zhu means bamboo in Chinese, which is highly respected and valued in Chinese culture; it is not only practical in use but is also symbolic. It represents the character of moral integrity, modesty and loyalty. It is praised by poets and painters, and deeply rooted in Chinese culture. People have been using bamboo since 7,000 years ago in various ways; it fulfills people’s needs from daily use to house constructions.
